Right before sunset I took a quick drive down to Jones Beach again - the same Red Tailed Hawk was present off Wantagh Parkway where the Canada Goose kill was yesterday. A light morph Rough Legged Hawk was also seen off Wantagh Parkway by Green Island. (they seem to favor the bay area closer to the Long Island mainland.) A few Horned Larks were present by the Coast Guard and a Northen Harrier was seen over the dunes on the West End.
Non-bird sightings featured several seals in the bay between Field 10 and Meadowbrook Parkway (the usual spot) One jumped out of the water!
