Massapequa Preserve

I explored the preserve from the Pittsburgh Ave Pond heading south to the .3 mile marker and exited the preserve from the unpaved trail on Clark Street.  There weren't many songbirds but the few I found were singing  - notably Cardinals and Song Sparrows.  The Pittsburgh Ave Pond had the usual ducks including a female Bufflehead and Ring Necked Duck.  I saw the Wood Duck pair + the "third wheel" female Mallard between them in the stream north of Clark Street.  At the Brady Park Pond, there were a good amount of ducks including female Bufflehead, Ruddy Ducks and several more Ring Necked Ducks.  On the way out I visited the "new" Red Screech Owl who was fast asleep.
